After I organize the tabs in the order I want them and hit save, they are reordered by Ribbon Customizer. Please see this screen shot I took. You'll notice how I have the tabs ordered just before saving in the Ribbon Customizer window, versus how they will appear in the Office window after saving.

Please see the attached screen shots. When I load custom macro buttons in Excel, Ribbon Customizer disappeared. After restarting Excel, I received the posted error message. I opened Ribbon Customizer again and clicked OK, since my macro buttons were still available. Upon pressing ok, Ribbon Customizer disappeared again.

I'm wondering if the above posts were read by the developer (simple yes/no would suffice). It would also be nice to know if the next beta release will address these issues (again, simple yes/no would suffice).

Thank you.

Duping my post in the beta forum to here - sorry I didnt see the request to post bugs onto this thread till now.

Long time user of this program thank you very much - glad to see that you have returned.

I have run into something strange on my machine at work.

If I launch Excel using the normal Excel Icon in the Start Menu - RC works fine and everything is good in the world.

If on the other hand - I launch excel by clickling on an already existing spreadsheet - work.xls - then the add on is not loaded. I have to exit and relaunch using the Excel start menu icon and then use file open to open the file or launch first using start menu then click on existing file to open it in excel..

This is a bit of a PITA. This does not seem to affect Word or Powerpoint which seem to load RC fine even when clicking on an existing document to launch the application.

Using beta version 1.2.3410.35975 with Retail License

Hopefully that's somewhat clear and reproducible - let me know if you need more details.

Using Excel 21007 with SPP2

Regarding the wrong tab order post: I am not sure how you got into that state. That you reordered Microsoft tabs shouldn't be possible.

Regarding the add-in not launching when starting Excel by clicking a file: I can't reproduce it here. Also, launching the add-in is an Excel responsibility, so I'd say you have an issue with your Excel installation. Can you check in Options, if this affects other add-ins? If yes, I'd suggest to run Microsoft Office Diagnostics

for the macro post: any chance you can send me the customization file? It's stored in "%appdata%\pschmid.net\RibbonCustomizer" (you can type that into the run box).

Seems like my problem has now cleared up now. Very strange as I was having this issue for a couple of weeks. Maybe a reboot knocked some bits into the right state Surprised)

Thanks for following up!

"Regarding the wrong tab order post: I am not sure how you got into that state. That you reordered Microsoft tabs shouldn't be possible."

Actually, I created new tabs with the same names as the original MS tabs, so I could reorder the tabs. In other words, I didn't reorder the Microsoft tabs, I just created replicate tabs and reordered these.

"for the macro post: any chance you can send me the customization file?"

I've attached the file to this post.

When I tried to install the latest beta version, I received the following error message:

"An error occurred attempting to install..."

"See the setup log file located at 'C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\VSD582F.tmp\install.log' for more information."

I've attached the log file to this post.

I was able to install the beta update on a different machine that runs XP. I'm not sure why it wouldn't install on my Vista machine. In any event, I'm still having the same issues with my Excel customization. When turn the customization on, RC disappears. When I restart Excel, I receive the same error message that was posted in this thread (http://pschmid.net/office2007/forums/viewtopic.php?t=388). Hopefully, you can take a look at the Excel customization file I posted above and let me know how the situation can be resolved.

Wondering if you've had a chance to look at the file I posted?

Hi,

I just purchased a Professional version of the customizer and was working on my ribbon (using the beta version), when all of a sudden it started failing with the "Ribbon Customizer Add-in error" reported by hsrstud.

Now I cannot get any customizations to load. I've tried downgrading from the beta, and I've tried deleting all my customizations. Nothing.

Any thoughts?
