Office 2007 trial versions now available for download
Office 2007 trial versions are now available for download: http://trymicrosoftoffice.com
Please keep in mind that these trials are good for 60 days only! That means if you don’t want to be buying Office 2007 basically the day it is released for retail & OEM (end of January), then you should wait on downloading the trial versions or stick with B2TR. Remember that B2TR is good till March 31, 2007.
Update: Looks like the US, Canada, France, Germany and Japan can get it now. If the general link above doesn’t redirect you to your country’s site, try these:
Germany: http://germany.trymicrosoftoffice.com/
France: http://france.trymicrosoftoffice.com/
Japan: http:/ /japan.trymicrosoftoffice.com/
Canada: http://canada.trymicrosoftoffice.com/
Note on trials: You should be able to install a trial version, remove it and install it again without requiring another activation. You should also be able to install a trial version again on the same computer (given you still have the product key) after wiping your hard drive.
Second note: If you want to use the PDF/XPS output of Office 2007 with a trial version, please read this post first before doing anything.

I really appreciate your very informative mails in relation to Office 2007 however this morning I hit a slight problem in that your information was slightly wrong. The trial versions are only available stateside which is a bit of a pain when I’m currently working in the Middle East but I can’t download through the UK site when I travel there tomorrow!! Not to worry because my B2TR has been and is still working extremely well and I can’t wait for the package to be finally available. On a side issue I suspect along with many others that it’s unlikely I’ll change over to Vista simply because the costs are horrendous.

Hi Allan,
sorry about that. I didn’t realize until after I posted it that trials are only available in the US, as I am physically located there.

Hi Reinhard,
did you activate it? That sounds like you are having an activation issue.

Thanks, Patrick,
I was assuming I had such an issue - and I had indeed due to a couple issues outside of the ON installation. Now it’s re-installed, activated and running beautifully.

[…] You downloaded and installed your trial version of Office 2007 and now you want to get the Save As PDF/XPS add-in to test the PDF/XPS output of Office 2007. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to due to a “feature” called “Office Genuine Advantage” (OGA). One idea behind OGA is the same as behind its sibling “Windows Genuine Advantage” (WGA): You are only supposed to be able to download things that extend or enhance your copy of Windows or Office, if its genuine, meaning you bought a bona fide license (let’s overlook the controversy and issues surrounding WGA and OGA in general for this post). Hi,
I downloaded Office 2007 trial, installed it. Then I had to do a system restore this morning, re-installed, and now I get a message that my trial has expired???
Any idea how to convince MSFT that the 60 day period is not up?

Try removing and reinstalling using the same key again?

Hi Patrik
I wanted to download the trial version of MS office 2007 from Canada.
In the registration page I have filled up all the fields in bold but it still says one or more required fileds need to be filled up.
Any idea why this is happening.
Thx

Fill out ALL the fields, not only the ones in bold. It confused me for a while, too.
